New daily cases and deaths at the county-level and wastewater viral loads
measured from the wastewater treatment plant. Flow-normalized viral load is calculated
by viral load multiplied by flow rate, and then divided by service population and cumulative
median BCoV recovery rate.
Vertical lines denote when key state-level COVID-19
related policy actions were enacted/expired.
Note: some days may show negative values for new
cases or deaths. This can occur when a county corrects
an error in previously reported numbers or when a
state moves cases from one county to another. When possible,
historical counts are revised for these changes, but
in some cases they will result in a single-day drop in cases/deaths.

Wastewater Viral Load & COVIDcast Indicator
This figure shows wastewater viral loads
measured from the wastewater treatment plant
and a county-level indicator of COVID prevelance created by the
Delphi Research Group's COVIDcast effort.
The indicator is a combination of doctor visits and Facebook symptom surveys.
Higher values of the combined indicator indicate a higher estimated prevalence
of COVID, but the scale (units) of the combination is arbitrary.
